Chicago’s These Peaches, the long-running project of musician Rich Klevgard, are marking the tenth anniversary of their debut album Almost Heard the Ocean with the release of a new single, “Speckled Bird.”
Originally released in 2015, Almost Heard the Ocean introduced listeners to a warm fusion of Americana, folk, country, and rock, layered with poetic storytelling and nostalgic melodies. The band — featuring Klevgard, Tom Johnson, Brian Doherty, and Pete Drever — earned praise for songs like “So Glad,” “The Boat Song,” and “Lillianne,” each weaving reflections on love, loss, and life’s quiet moments.
“Speckled Bird” continues that tradition, blending heartfelt lyrics and organic instrumentation that echo the band’s signature sound while looking forward to new creative horizons.
