Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios have unleashed Thrones of Blood, a chilling new DLC for the award-winning strategy epic Age of Wonders 4. Available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, this vampire-themed expansion introduces the Vampire Ruler, complete with dark new powers, gothic castles, and blood-fueled magic.
Players can now command armies of the undead, drain enemies to empower allies, and transform heroes into vampiric thralls. The DLC includes three new Tomes of Magic, a new Story Realm exploring the origins of vampire-kind, and eerie new locations like the Sunless Lands and Blood Glass wonders. Expect plenty of bats, grotesque wildlife, and haunting new music to complete the atmosphere.
Launching alongside Thrones of Blood is the free “Gargoyle Update,” which enhances tutorials, expands customization through the Item Forge and Pantheon, and revamps the Dark Culture for a more sinister experience.
Thrones of Blood marks the first major release in Expansion Pass 3, which will continue through 2026 with two major DLCs — Rise from Ruin and Secrets of the Archmages.
