The zombie-slaying madness of John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando just got a major boost. Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have launched the free Urban Blight update, available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Set one year after the game’s original story, the new PvE mission drops players into a city threatened by yet another sludge-fueled disaster. Humanity—and the questionable Hopewell corporation—has once again pushed its luck, leaving the Commandos to clean up the mess before it spirals into a full-blown apocalypse.
Urban Blight packs in plenty of fresh content. Players can battle the game’s first flying enemy, the vicious Hornet, take the wheel of new vehicles including the Forklift and heavily armed Thrasher APC, and tackle new daily, weekly, and seasonal Trials for XP and exclusive rewards.

The arsenal is also expanding with six new weapons, giving zombie hunters even more ways to tear through the undead hordes.
For players looking to stand out, Cosmetic Pack 1 arrives alongside the update, adding new character skins, weapon cosmetics, vehicle wraps, and plenty of stylish extras.
And for fans of the game’s retro-cool vibe, Gunship’s “Tell Me When the World Stops Ending” now has its own music video, blending high-energy gameplay with nostalgic analog-glitch aesthetics.
The Urban Blight update is available now as a free download for all players. Better yet, newcomers can jump in with limited-time discounts of 25% off the base game and 30% off the Blood Edition on Steam.
