The wait is over. WARDOGS, BULKHEAD’s chaotic 100-player tactical FPS, launches into Steam Early Access today at 5pm BST / 4pm UTC — and console players now have a date to circle, too.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions are officially confirmed for 2028, with wishlisting opening on both platforms today.

The launch comes after a seriously busy pre-release period. Nearly 500,000 players jumped into August’s Closed Beta, while the final pre-launch test hit a massive 245,118 concurrent players on Steam.

And judging by the reaction, players are hungry for this kind of shooter again.

That’s the idea behind WARDOGS’ new launch trailer, “PLAY LIKE YOU USED TO,” which takes inspiration from the iconic Halo 3 “Believe” campaign. The message is simple: multiplayer should feel social, unpredictable and, most importantly, ridiculously fun.

WARDOGS throws three rival teams into 100-player battles featuring tactical gunplay, vehicles, construction and destruction across three maps and nine variations. Add local voice chat that lets allies and enemies hear each other, and things can go from coordinated military operation to absolute nonsense in seconds.

“WARDOGS is ambitious, rough around the edges and still has a long way to go,” said BULKHEAD CEO Joe Brammer. “But that is exactly what Early Access should be.”

The game launches at $39.99 USD, with stepped pricing planned throughout development as new features arrive.

And because apparently 100 players causing mayhem isn’t enough, BULKHEAD is also kicking off the WARDOGS $100K Clip Contest, putting $100,000 in cash on the line for the best clip, with the rest of the Top 100 earning $100,000 in WARDOGS in-game cash.

For PC players, the battle begins today at 5pm BST / 4pm UTC. Console players can wishlist now and join the fight when WARDOGS arrives on PS5 and Xbox in 2028.

Time to see what 100 players, three teams and open voice chat can possibly go wrong.
