Apple Original Films announced that F1 The Movie, the record-breaking sports epic starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), will make its global streaming debut on Apple TV on Friday, December 12.
Since its theatrical release on June 27, 2025, F1 The Movie has raced past expectations—debuting at No. 1 and earning over $629 million worldwide. The film is now the highest-grossing sports film of all time, this year’s top original feature, and Pitt’s most successful release to date. It holds an A CinemaScore and a 97% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, praised as the most authentic racing film ever made.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer shared, “It’s been thrilling to see audiences embrace F1 The Movie in theaters. Now, we’re beyond excited to bring this exhilarating, cinematic ride to fans everywhere through Apple TV’s global reach.”
The film follows Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a former Formula 1® phenom who returns to the track decades later to help save a failing team—only to find redemption is its own race.
Featuring Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, and a Hans Zimmer score, the film was shot during real Grand Prix weekends and fueled by the chart-topping F1® The Album, which has surpassed 1 billion streams.
