RuneScape is entering its most ambitious chapter yet. As the iconic MMORPG approaches its 25th anniversary in 2026, Jagex has unveiled a bold new roadmap during the RuneScape Ahead showcase, outlining major expansions, core system modernisation, and a renewed commitment to player-first design.
Headlining the plans is Journey to Havenhythe, the largest area expansion in RuneScape’s history. Rolling out throughout 2026, Havenhythe introduces new quests, early-game bosses, and an increased Hunter skill cap of 110, with further story and boss content to follow.
Alongside new adventures, Jagex is launching an integrity-focused roadmap called The Road to Restoration. This initiative modernises RuneScape’s foundations with UI upgrades, combat improvements, rebalanced systems, enhanced Grand Exchange trading, and long-requested quality-of-life updates. A complete player avatar refresh arrives in April, updating models, animations, hairstyles, and clothing based on community feedback.
Players can also look forward to revamped Player Owned Houses, an expanded Construction skill to level 120, the return of Leagues II, and the highly anticipated RuneFest 2026 in Birmingham, UK.
With the removal of Treasure Hunter daily mechanics and a renewed focus on fairness, transparency, and community, RuneScape’s 25th anniversary marks the dawn of its boldest era yet.
