The global zombie outbreak is getting a premium physical-media revival. World War Z arrives January 27, 2026, in a new Region A 4K Ultra HD Steelbook from Shout! Factory’s Scream/Shout label, expanding availability beyond the earlier Walmart-exclusive release.

The 2013 action-horror hit stars Brad Pitt as former UN investigator Gerry Lane, racing across continents to slow a lightning-fast pandemic. This set includes the 116-minute theatrical cut on 4K UHD, sourced from a 2023 4K master, plus the 123-minute unrated extended cut on a separate Blu-ray.

Visually, the 2160p presentation features Dolby Vision HDR, bringing sharper texture to massive crowd swarms and chaotic set pieces while preserving the film’s intentionally muted, desaturated palette. Audio remains a DTS-HD Master Audio mix, still delivering muscular bass, active surrounds, and clean dialogue, though without a new object-based remix.

The limited Steelbook houses the 4K disc and two Blu-rays, sporting new artwork centered on Pitt’s character amid global collapse. Priced in the low-to-mid $30 range, it’s positioned as a collectible upgrade.

Extras live on the Blu-rays, carrying over extensive featurettes and the multi-part production documentary, plus the extended cut’s “Zombie Town Hall” panel with Max Brooks, George A. Romero, and others.
