Digital Extremes has rolled out Preludes 15: Gods & Ghosts, the latest free update for the ongoing Soulframe closed Alpha on PC, and it’s packed with some of the game’s biggest changes yet.

Leading the charge is a complete refresh of the loot and crafting systems. Defeated enemies can now drop fully crafted weapons featuring new randomized modifiers called Tempers, while blacksmith Tuvalkane helps players refine their gear through a new Ingot forging process.

The update also introduces long-requested social features, including gear trading and in-game mail, making it easier for Envoys to share loot, resources, and messages across the world of Alca.

Looking for a challenge? New threats await with the arrival of the Turret Jotar Siege Encounter, an overhauled enemy patrol system, and fresh foes such as the fierce Ode’n Caeulam.

Build customization gets a boost as well thanks to a reworked Totem system, now tied directly to Soulframe’s three Virtues: Courage, Spirit, and Grace. The changes open up new strategic combinations, especially when paired with the update’s latest weapons: the heavy axe Veilk, long blade Ilverac, and heavy mace Vrusht-IX.

The update also includes a range of quality-of-life improvements shaped by community feedback, continuing Digital Extremes’ collaborative approach to development.

For those eager to jump in, Soulframe Preludes remains a free closed Alpha on PC, with new players selected weekly through the access queue. Instant access is also available through the Founder program.

Developed by the team behind Warframe, Soulframe is an upcoming free-to-play fantasy adventure focused on exploration, restoration, and uncovering the mysteries of a handcrafted open world.
