Apple TV has dropped a first look at season six of its acclaimed espionage hit Slow Horses, and it looks like Slough House’s most chaotic chapter yet is on the horizon.
The Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning spy drama, led by Academy Award winner Sir Gary Oldman as the gloriously grumpy Jackson Lamb, will return globally on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The six-episode season will roll out weekly through October 21, keeping fans in suspense well into the fall.
Adapted from Mick Herron’s novels Joe Country and Slough House—part of his CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning series—the new season once again plunges MI5’s least glamorous department into high-stakes espionage with very low levels of competence. This time, the Slow Horses find themselves on the run after Diana Taverner drags them into a brutal game of retaliation and revenge.
If you know the show, you know the formula: elite spycraft meets bureaucratic exile, with chaos never far behind.
The ensemble remains stacked. Alongside Oldman, returning cast members include Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce, and Hugo Weaving, with BAFTA TV Award winner Lenny Rush joining the fold.
With universal critical acclaim and multiple perfect Rotten Tomatoes scores across earlier seasons, Slow Horses continues to be hailed as one of the most compelling spy dramas on television—proof that failure, in the right hands, can be riveting.
Slough House is open for business again. And as ever, nobody’s getting out clean.
