The beloved Atelier series is heading back to the mysterious continent of Aladiss with Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories, a brand-new adventure from KOEI TECMO and developer Gust.
Set for release in early 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the latest entry introduces players to Karia, an amnesiac alchemist searching for her lost past. Alongside biologist Servio Lektor and fighter Fina Rozen, she’ll venture deep into Aladiss’ enigmatic underworld, guided by fan-favorite alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt.
As expected, alchemy remains at the heart of the experience. Players will experiment with a deep synthesis system that allows countless item combinations by linking mana-infused ingredients. But Karia also brings a unique new twist: culinary exploration. Snack on ingredients while gathering resources and you’ll trigger unexpected effects, from gaining animal ears to unlocking special traits.
Combat has also evolved, building on the foundations of Atelier Yumia. The refined hybrid battle system blends fast-paced action, real-time parries, and strategic command menus that let players pause the action and plan their next move.
Alchemy’s usefulness extends beyond combat, too. Crafted items can help uncover hidden treasures, solve environmental puzzles, access new areas, and even improve the efficiency of player-built bases.
With a compelling new heroine, expanded gameplay systems, and a return to the world of Aladiss, Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories is shaping up to be one of the series’ most ambitious adventures yet.
