Horror fans, mark your calendars—and maybe keep the lights on.

Indie horror publisher DreadXP and developer PHL Games have officially announced Creepshow, a new anthology horror game launching on PC via Steam this August. Developed in partnership with AMC Global Media and based on the acclaimed Shudder series Creepshow, the game brings the cult-favorite horror franchise into interactive form for the first time.

If you know Creepshow, you already know the vibe: comic-book dread, twisted punchlines, and stories that relish in the macabre. That DNA is fully intact here. Inspired by the television series executive produced by horror icon Greg Nicotero, the game leans hard into its anthology structure—self-contained nightmares stitched together with a familiar, unsettling charm.

Creative direction comes from Brian Clarke, known for The Mortuary Assistant, which should immediately tell genre fans exactly what kind of psychological unease is in store. Expect shifting tones too—from psychological horror to pitch-black humor, with stories where survival is never guaranteed and death might not even be the worst outcome.

The narrative follows Danny and his friends as they dig into the mystery of his father’s disappearance. What starts as a search for answers quickly spirals into something far more sinister, especially once Danny crosses paths with The Reader, a mysterious fortune-teller who seems far too interested in other people’s darkest stories.

As DreadXP’s founder and CEO Patrick Ewald puts it, the goal is simple: make players feel like they’ve stepped inside an actual episode of Creepshow—and maybe don’t make it out.

The curtains rise this August on PC via Steam. Try not to blink.
