The wait is over for console players. NetEase Games has officially launched the Final Console Open Beta for Once Human on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, giving players a chance to jump into its bizarre supernatural survival world ahead of launch.

Running now through July 9 in Europe and the UK, the beta lets players explore a Stardust-ravaged apocalypse packed with strange horrors, from walking buses roaming empty highways to giant whale-like aircraft drifting through fractured skies. Players take on the role of Meta-Humans, building bases, capturing powerful Deviants, and evolving beyond normal human limits.

How to Join (Limited Spots Available)

The Open Beta is available globally across North America, South America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan regions. Spaces are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • PlayStation 5: Search for “Once Human Beta” on the PlayStation Store and download directly.
  • XBOX Series X|S: Open the XBOX Insider Hub app, navigate to “Previews,” search for “Once Human,” select “Join,” and proceed to the store page to install.

The beta includes five different scenarios catering to both PvE and PvP fans. Xbox and PlayStation users can squad up together on unified console servers, although cross-play with PC and mobile is not yet available during this test phase.

Getting in is simple: PS5 players can download “Once Human Beta” directly from the PlayStation Store, while Xbox players can join through the Xbox Insider Hub app. Spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

There’s also a strong incentive to participate. Players who reach Level 20—or spend at least three hours in RaidZone—can earn exclusive cosmetic and weapon skin rewards that will carry over to the full release. While character progression will be wiped after the beta, earned Starchrom, cosmetics, outfits, and up to six collected Deviants will remain tied to player accounts.

Once Human Final Console Open Beta Goes Live on Xbox and PS5

“This last beta is absolutely crucial for perfecting the console experience,” the development team said, emphasizing its commitment to gathering player feedback ahead of the game’s official launch.

For console players eager to experience one of the year’s strangest survival adventures, now is the time to step into the weird and wonderful world of Once Human.
