The world of Where Winds Meet is about to feel a lot more like home.

Developer Everstone Studio has announced that Version 1.8, “Companions Make Home,” launches on June 25 (UTC), bringing one of the game’s most requested features: a fully customizable Homestead system. Players will return to Qinghe to rebuild the ruined village of Blissful Retreat, transforming it into a thriving community through farming, trading, brewing, and construction.

But you’re not rebuilding alone.

Version 1.8 also introduces dynamic pets, with three cats—Maverick, Scar, and Pudding—joining players at launch, followed by Goldie the goose a week later. These companions react to weather and world events, can be dressed up, and unlock unique cosmetics and emotes as your bond grows.

The update doesn’t stop there. A packed event schedule includes the challenging Martial Path Domain, the PvPvE treasure-hunting mode Tomb Raiders, and the delightfully absurd Phantom Thief Goose event, where players use goose-powered abilities like honking and pecking to complete stealthy heists.

Looking ahead, July will also bring Beyond Artistry, a player-driven housing showcase feature that lets players share their custom-designed homes with the wider community.

Between rebuilding a village, raising animal companions, and tackling a slate of new events, Version 1.8 looks set to be one of Where Winds Meet’s most charming updates yet.
