Riot Games is turning back the clock.
Launching with Patch 26.15 on July 29, League of Legends Classic is a brand-new game mode that revives the feel of early League while adding a few modern touches to keep things fresh.
Inspired by Season 3 (2013), League Classic isn’t a one-to-one recreation of an old patch—it’s a curated throwback featuring many of the game’s most beloved elements. Expect the original-style Summoner’s Rift, 60 classic champions (including many pre-rework kits), old-school Runes and Masteries, iconic items, and slower-paced gameplay that rewards strategy over flashy mobility.
Players can jump into PvP Draft, Co-op vs AI, or custom games at launch, while progressing through a brand-new Classic Level system to unlock champions, runes, masteries, cosmetics, and more. Seasonal Classic Passes will also introduce exclusive Classic Skins and the new collectible Portraits.
Perhaps the biggest surprise is The Council, a community voting feature that lets dedicated players help shape League Classic’s future by influencing which champions, skins, and select gameplay features arrive next.
“League Classic is personal for us,” said Executive Producer Paul Bellezza. “We want League Classic to scratch that itch while still bringing something new to the table.”
Whether you’re a veteran who remembers stacking Bloodthirsters or a newer player curious about League’s roots, League Classic looks set to deliver a nostalgic trip back to where it all began.
