Noname is back with another glimpse of what’s next. The Chicago rapper, poet, and activist has dropped “Squatter” featuring DRAM, the second single from her upcoming mixtape Cartoon Radio and her first new release since last year’s teaser, “Hundred Acres.”
Inspired by a real-life experience, “Squatter” tells the story of returning home from tour to discover someone had moved into her house while she was abroad—leading to an unforgettable showdown with the help of friends.
The release arrives just as Noname gears up for a 20-date North American tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of her beloved debut mixtape Telefone. Demand has been so strong that extra dates have already been added in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and her hometown of Chicago. She’s also set to headline Pitchfork Music Festival London this November.
Cartoon Radio will mark Noname’s first full project since her acclaimed 2023 album Sundial. Offstage, she’s continuing to grow the impact of the Noname Book Club, which now hosts in-person meetings in 38 cities across Africa, the United States, and the global diaspora—proving her influence reaches far beyond music.
