Troy arrives on 4K Blu-ray August 18, giving the 2004 epic its first-ever 4K presentation in a brand-new restoration from the camera negative.
Adapted from Homer’s The Iliad, Petersen’s sweeping take on the legendary conflict packs romance, betrayal, brutal battlefield clashes and larger-than-life heroes into one colossal package. At its center are Achilles (Pitt) and Hector (Bana), whose legendary showdown remains one of the film’s defining moments.
This new three-disc release goes all in. The theatrical cut and Director’s Cut both receive Dolby Vision/HDR presentations with lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio, while a dedicated Blu-ray is loaded with archival extras, including behind-the-scenes featurettes, commentary, effects material, image galleries and more.
There’s also a collectors’ booklet featuring new writing from Priscilla Page and Laurie Maguire, plus reversible artwork by Peter Strain.
