Halloween is officially getting the HBO Max treatment.
The streamer is kicking off October with “Horror Comes Home,” a massive collection of movies and series designed to make staying in a lot more frightening. The Halloween hub is available now and will run throughout October, bringing together everything from new releases and HBO Originals to horror classics and franchise favorites.
Leading the fresh scares is A24’s “Backrooms,” which arrived on HBO Max last month after becoming the studio’s highest-grossing film ever. Next up is “Evil Dead Burn,” premiering October 2, followed by the new HBO Original documentary series “The Pet Cemetery Murders: A Ghost Story” on October 11.
There’s plenty more waiting in the shadows, including “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy,” “The Strangers: Chapter 2,” and “Undertone.”
Of course, Halloween isn’t just about what’s new. HBO Max is also digging deep into the horror vault with favorites like “Sinners,” “Weapons,” “Midsommar,” “Hereditary,” and “Bring Her Back,” alongside major franchises including “The Conjuring,” “Final Destination,” “It,” “Insidious,” “Blair Witch,” “The Strangers,” and “Evil Dead.”
And for fans who prefer their scares old school, classics such as “Carrie,” “The Exorcist,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Poltergeist,” “Gremlins,” and “The Shining” are also part of the lineup.
To make finding something scary a little easier, HBO Max has created themed collections including “Trick or Treat,” “Must-Scream Horror,” “A Killer Movie Marathon,” “Haunted Hall of Fame,” “Creature Features,” and “What’s Around The Corner,” arriving October 2.
There’s even a new virtual channel, “Essential Horror,” featuring a rotating mix of horror movies and series from the HBO Max catalog.
So whether you’re looking for a brand-new nightmare, a familiar franchise scare, or an excuse to revisit a horror classic, HBO Max is making October one long horror movie night.
