Hadouken! Street Fighter is gearing up for another big-screen brawl, bringing Capcom’s legendary fighting game franchise back to theaters on October 16, 2026.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, this live-action reboot mixes martial arts, action, and comedy with a colorful cast of familiar faces. And yes, fans can expect plenty of classic fighters to throw down.
Old Rivals, New Battles
Set in 1993, the story follows Ryu and Ken Masters, two former friends whose relationship has gone off the rails. Their paths cross again when Chun-Li recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament.
But this isn’t just about landing the perfect knockout. A dangerous conspiracy is brewing behind the competition, forcing the two fighters to face their past while battling their way through a tournament packed with heavy hitters.
A Wild Cast of Fighters
The movie brings together an eclectic lineup of actors, wrestlers, musicians, and martial artists. Andrew Koji stars as Ryu, Noah Centineo plays Ken, and Callina Liang steps into the role of Chun-Li.
They’re joined by David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma. The roster also includes Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, and Olivier Richters as Zangief.
With this many familiar characters on the board, the tournament could be a nostalgia-packed showdown for longtime fans.
A Fresh Start for the Franchise
This isn’t a continuation of the previous Street Fighter movies. Instead, the reboot gives the franchise another shot at capturing the energy, outrageous personalities, and hard-hitting action that made the games an arcade favorite.
The big challenge? Balancing the over-the-top fights with the more personal story of Ryu and Ken’s broken friendship.
The fight begins October 16, 2026. Street Fighter is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters that Friday. Get ready to pick your fighter!
