Kate Wyler is back in the diplomatic hot seat. Netflix’s hit political drama The Diplomat returns Thursday, October 15, with eight new episodes packed with international intrigue, political conspiracies, and marriages on the brink of disaster.

The best part? All eight episodes arrive at once, so you can binge the entire season without waiting for weekly installments.

A Political Crisis Hits Close to Home

Season 4 picks up after a dramatic third-season finale that left President Grace Penn and Vice President Hal Wyler sharing power in Washington. Unfortunately for Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), her husband’s growing political influence may be just as dangerous as the international crisis unfolding around them.

A catastrophic event threatens the fragile peace between the United States and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, Grace and Hal pursue a conspiracy involving Russia’s most powerful weapon, potentially pushing America toward war.

Kate finds an unlikely ally in First Gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford). Together, they must try to stop their spouses from destabilizing the political order—and possibly the world.

Familiar Faces, Bigger Roles

Russell returns as Kate alongside Rufus Sewell as Hal, Allison Janney as President Grace Penn, and Whitford as Todd Penn. David Gyasi, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, Ato Essandoh, and Nana Mensah also return.

Janney, Whitford, and Mensah have been promoted to series regulars, giving the White House storyline an even bigger role this season.

Behind the scenes, creator and showrunner Debora Cahn continues to steer the series, balancing high-stakes diplomacy with the complicated relationships driving the drama.

When Can You Watch?

The Diplomat Season 4 premieres Thursday, October 15, 2026, on Netflix. All eight episodes, each approximately one hour long, are scheduled to drop together.

With an international crisis brewing, a potential weapons conspiracy, and two politically entangled marriages heading toward disaster, Kate Wyler has her work cut out for her.

One thing is certain: keeping the peace abroad might be easier than keeping the peace at home.
