The world knows Muhammad Ali as a boxing legend. Prime Video’s upcoming series The Greatest aims to show the man behind the icon.

Amazon MGM Studios has released the official trailer and key art for the eight-episode series, which premieres November 4, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video. The project marks the first authorized scripted series chronicling Ali’s life, following his journey from young Cassius Clay to one of the most influential figures in sports and culture.

Newcomer Jaalen Best stars as Clay, with Omari Hardwick, Dana Gourrier, Amin Joseph, Giovanni Ribisi and Michael Ealy rounding out a notable cast. Ealy takes on the role of civil rights leader Malcolm X, while Joseph portrays heavyweight rival Sonny Liston.

Created by Ben Watkins, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, the series explores Ali’s battles both inside and outside the ring. Against the backdrop of a changing America, The Greatest examines the personal struggles, political convictions and defining moments that helped shape a global icon.

Adding a personal connection to the project, Ali’s widow, Lonnie Ali, serves as an executive producer. The series also brings together Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society, Roc Nation and several other production partners.

All eight episodes of The Greatest arrive November 4 on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. For fans who know Ali as the heavyweight champion who changed boxing forever, this series promises a closer look at the person behind the legend.
