Fleetwood Mac is ready to tell its story — in its own words. Apple Original Films has announced Fleetwood Mac: The Chain, the first-ever fully authorized documentary about the legendary rock band, arriving on Apple TV on January 29, 2027.
Directed by five-time Academy Award nominee Frank Marshall (The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart), the film brings together Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks to reflect on more than five decades of music, fame, heartbreak and creative collaboration.
Fans can expect exclusive new interviews and never-before-seen footage exploring the highs and lows behind one of rock music’s most enduring acts. With more than 220 million records sold worldwide, Fleetwood Mac has a story that goes far beyond the hits — and this documentary promises a closer look at the complicated relationships that helped shape its legendary sound.
The title comes from “The Chain,” the only track on the band’s iconic Rumours album credited to all five members. Its themes of loyalty, conflict and connection perfectly capture the bond that kept Fleetwood Mac together through turbulent times.
The premiere also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Rumours, the Grammy-winning album that remains one of the most celebrated records in rock history.
For longtime fans and new listeners alike, Fleetwood Mac: The Chain looks set to offer a rare glimpse into the people behind the music — and the extraordinary chemistry that made it last.
