BitQuest Studio is turning up the heat in Ashfield Hollow with a new Hardcore Survival Challenge, launching alongside the game’s demo for Steam Next Fest, running October 19–26.
The mission? Survive 50 in-game days in a post-apocalyptic world with permadeath enabled. The reward? The four survivors with the most zombie kills at the end of the challenge will each take home a $25 Steam Gift Card.
Here’s how to enter:
- Start a new game in the Ashfield Hollow demo and select the Hardcore Survival preset.
- Keep permadeath enabled and leave all other settings unchanged.
- Survive all 50 in-game days.
- Screenshot your final scorecard and submit it through the official entry form.
Scorecards must be submitted by 5:00 PM Eastern on October 26. Staying alive gets you on the board. Killing gets you paid. See Official Rules for details.
Life After the Apocalypse
Described by ScreenRant as “The Last of Us meets Stardew Valley,” Ashfield Hollow blends real-time survival combat with farming, crafting, base building, and community life.
Set ten years after a devastating outbreak, the game drops players into Camp Ashfield with no memory of their past and a world left to rebuild. Between fighting infected, confronting hostile survivors, growing food, raising animals, and expanding your base, there’s plenty to keep you busy.

The demo covers the first 50 in-game days, offering roughly 10 hours of gameplay on default settings. Better yet, your save carries over to the full release, so the home you build now won’t go to waste.
The game also supports controllers and Steam Deck, with extensive sandbox options for players who prefer to customize their experience.
But for Steam Next Fest, the real question is simple: Can you make it to day 50 without dying?
Tune in to Camp Ashfield, gear up, and see how many infected you can take down before the clock runs out.
Steam Next Fest runs October 19–26.
