Big news is dropping for Call of Duty fans. A major intel reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone Season 02 goes live at 9 AM PT on Thursday, February 5, and it’s packed with content.
Season 02 brings a mix of new and returning Multiplayer maps and modes, along with a brand-new Survival map in Zombies. Endgame is expanding too, with the addition of Guild Strikes and Nightmare Zones. Over in Warzone, players can explore a winter-themed refresh of Rebirth Island, while competitive fans can jump into Ranked Play in both Black Ops 7 and Warzone. In short, there’s more than enough here to keep squads locked in for the long haul.
And that’s not all. The mid-season update is set to raise the stakes even higher with the debut of a brand-new Battle Royale experience on the Avalon map in Warzone. This new mode takes clear inspiration from the original Call of Duty Battle Royale experience — Black Ops 4’s Blackout — bringing a nostalgic twist to the evolving Warzone formula.
Story & Endgame Evolution
Alden Dorne and Guild tech chief Victoria Atwood are advancing Project Synapse, using David Mason’s mind to reshape warfare itself. In Endgame, matches can be disrupted by sudden Guild Strikes, transforming parts of Avalon into high-danger Nightmare Zones. These hotspots feature tougher enemies, exclusive objectives, and a powerful Strike Boss. Take one down and you may trigger a Glitch — a rare off-map survival event where squads fight waves of enemies for new Nightmare Skills.
The Eagle Eye Skill Track sharpens precision and critical damage, while new abilities expand tactics: Sentinel Protocoldeploys a support robot that fights and revives teammates, and Blood Burner summons a combat bike built for traversal and area attacks.
Multiplayer Overhaul
Season 02 adds a wave of maps. At launch: Torment, Sake, Nexus, and the remastered Slums. Mid-season brings Firing Range, Grind, Cliff Town, Torque, and the large-scale Mission: Peak. Modes include returning favorites Safeguardand Overdrive, party and limited-time modes, plus Infected and the multi-mode Gauntlet.
Ranked Play returns with CDL-style rules, placement matches, Skill Rating progression, and exclusive competitive rewards.
Warzone Updates
Rebirth Island gets a winter refresh, and Resurgence Ranked Play joins the competitive lineup.
Add new events, weapon rewards, and the Lockshot smart-pistol Scorestreak, and Season 02 delivers action at every level.
