The sounds of war are getting their own spotlight. Lakeshore Records and Activision have released the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Original Score digitally, featuring music from Grammy-winning composer Stephen Barton and two-time BAFTA Award winner Jason Graves.
Barton returns to the franchise to score the game’s high-intensity campaign, bringing thunderous orchestration and an atmospheric edge to the action. The soundtrack also features contributions from South Korean post-rock band JAMBINAI and musician Luna Lee, whose performances on the traditional Korean string instrument, the gayageum, add a distinctive sound to the score.
Graves handles the multiplayer experience, bringing his signature style and a heavier musical approach to the mix. As Graves puts it, the goal was simple: give the soundtrack some “swagger.”
The collaboration provides a fitting backdrop for a campaign that takes players across the Korean Peninsula, New York, Paris, and Mumbai. The story follows a young squad of South Korean soldiers fighting to survive a North Korean invasion, while Captain Price wages a separate battle from the shadows.
For Barton, returning to the franchise is a particularly meaningful experience, nearly two decades after his involvement with the original Modern Warfare. He also praised the opportunity to reunite with longtime collaborators and work alongside Graves on the latest chapter.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Original Score is available now on digital music platforms through Lakeshore Records.
