Two of Robin Williams’ most beloved films are getting a serious home-theater upgrade.
Dead Poets Society and Mrs. Doubtfire arrive on 4K Ultra HD Digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on September 29, giving fans a fresh reason to revisit two very different showcases of Williams’ extraordinary range.
First up is 1989’s Dead Poets Society, Peter Weir’s moving drama in which Williams plays the unconventional teacher John Keating, inspiring his students to break from convention and “Carpe Diem.” The performance earned Williams an Oscar nomination and remains one of his most celebrated roles.

Then there’s 1993’s Mrs. Doubtfire, where Williams goes gloriously over the top as Daniel Hillard, a divorced dad who disguises himself as a British housekeeper to stay close to his children. The comedy became an instant classic—and earned Williams a Golden Globe.
Now, both films are coming home in 4K for the first time, with 4K resolution, HDR, a wider color spectrum and immersive audio designed to give these classics a fresh visual and sonic punch.
The films will be available digitally through platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango. Physical editions also get new key art, while Mrs. Doubtfire fans can look forward to collectible packaging featuring Williams in character as Mrs. Doubtfire—with a playful reveal of Daniel Hillard underneath.
Three decades later, the message of Dead Poets Society still rings true: seize the day. And when it comes to Mrs. Doubtfire? Well, some comedy simply never goes out of style.
