Dehd shares a second track, “Light On,” from their highly anticipated fifth studio album, Poetry, due May 10th through Fat Possum Records. Together, “Light On,” coupled with the previously released single “Mood Ring,” set the tone for Poetry’s diverse sonic landscape. Jason from Dehd beautifully encapsulates the essence of the track, stating, “This song is like a candle in the window, a light guiding someone back home if they were trying to find it.”

On the heels of their album release, the band will set off to Europe for a freshly unveiled 8-stop headlining tour, followed by a tour across North America this autumn, concluding with two nights at Thalia Hall in their hometown of Chicago. Following several US festivals during the winter and spring, the band will continue their festival circuit in the UK, EU, and NA throughout the summer. Tickets are available at dehd.horse.

Following the whirlwind success of their fourth album, Blue Skies, the trio embarked on a transformative journey, turning their writing sessions into a road trip. These experiences, actively seeking out distinct and inspiring locations to write and record from, coupled with a moment of inspiration from falling in love with Charles Bukowski’s self-affirming poem “The Laughing Heart,” gave birth to Dehd’s fifth album and a new direction—to live life like Poetry.

They finalized the songs that became Poetry back in snowy Chicago in the warehouse space they’ve called home for nearly a decade. The band tapped Ziyad Asrar of Whitney to co-produce the album alongside Dehd’s own Jason Balla at Palisade Studio, marking the first time the trio has collaborated with anyone outside of the band during the recording process.
