CCP Games has officially unveiled EVE Online: Legion, the next major expansion for its legendary sci-fi MMO, arriving May 27, 2025. After over 20 years of epic player-driven warfare and intrigue, Legion is set to redefine how capsuleers carve out their destinies among the stars.
In Legion, New Eden faces fresh conflict as old alliances fracture and new powers rise. At the heart of this expansion is the introduction of Freelance Jobs, a groundbreaking system that lets players engage with corporations on their own terms. Whether hauling vital supplies, waging war, or running industrial operations, every task helps pilots build reputation and find purpose in a corporation — potentially leading them into the infamous massive wars that have long defined EVE’s universe.
“With Legion, we’re opening a direct path to joining the fight in gaming’s largest war,” said Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online’s Creative Director. “Freelance Jobs give anyone, regardless of experience, the power to fleet up, earn rewards, and shape the future of New Eden.”
Power shifts will be felt not just in politics, but also on the battlefield with the arrival of two fearsome new warships. The Babaroga, a Triglavian Tech II marauder, delivers devastating damage with its entropic disintegrators and a powerful bastion module, making it a force in subcapital warfare. Meanwhile, the Sarathiel dreadnought brings brutal long-range firepower and is the only one of its kind able to jump across battle lines even while in siege mode — an agile terror built for modern frontline conflicts.

Beyond new ships and systems, Legion enhances nullsec space management with updates to the Equinox Sovereignty Suite, offering alliances greater control and strategic flexibility. The new Corporation Palette feature allows groups to unify their visual identity, projecting their power more clearly across contested regions.
The expansion also delivers sweeping balance changes to cruisers and capital ships, an overhauled starmap, and faster progression for Omega clones through the AIR Career Program — making this a pivotal moment for both new and veteran pilots.
Additionally, CCP announced Nemesis, a public event launching September 16, giving players one last chance to engage in ground combat before EVE Vanguard — the upcoming MMOFPS — enters Steam Early Access in Summer 2026.
