Fly Anakin has just dropped the second part of his Skinemaxxx project, Skinemaxxx (Side B), via Lex Records. Building upon the channel-surfing journey initiated in Side A, this B-side keeps the signature Mutant Academy vibe, packed with inside jokes, tongue-in-cheek skits, and technically proficient rapping, all accompanied by the vibrant and challenging production by Foisey. The release includes previously-released singles “Intrepid” and “Things Change,” featuring the talented London-based singer-songwriter Demae. Despite their distinct styles, these tracks are unified by Anakin’s meticulous and skillful rapping.

Accompanying the album release, Fly Anakin treats fans to a captivating new music video for the standout track “Blain Pitch,” directed by Noah Porte.

With Skinemaxxx (Side A) having introduced fans to the immersive concept of flipping through the TV guide, reliving childhood memories of favorite cartoons and accidentally stumbling upon channels that piqued curiosity, Side B takes that channel-surfing journey even further. Staying true to the essence of any Mutant Academy project, it’s filled with humor, clever skits, and top-notch rapping over colorful production. The first part of Skinemaxxx showcased singles like “Outsidigan’s Anthem” and “Blicky Bop,” pushing Fly Anakin’s boundaries with diverse production styles, revealing an exciting new facet to the artist, as Pitchfork rightfully recognizes him as “the single best pure rapper in the scene.”
