Girl Tones are turning up the volume. The Bowling Green, Kentucky sister duo have announced their debut album, Precious, arriving November 6 via Parallel Vision, Brad Shultz of Cage The Elephant’s label, in partnership with Big Loud Rock.
The announcement comes with “Pretty Face,” a muscular new single that finds Kenzie and Laila cutting through fake personas with palm-muted guitars, punchy drums, and plenty of attitude. “We’re not here to play,” Kenzie says of the track—and the message is hard to miss.
The album promises more of the band’s signature contrast: sweet melodies, sour riffs, and a fearless refusal to play by convention. Produced by Shultz, Precious captures Girl Tones embracing creative and personal freedom at full volume.
That energy has already made them one of the most exciting young live acts around. This year alone, they’ve toured with Dexter and The Moonrocks, Peter McPoland, and The Rare Occasions, while hitting SXSW, Treefort, The Great Escape, Bottlerock, Outside Days, and Bonnaroo.
Now they’re taking the show out on the road themselves. Girl Tones will launch their first-ever headline tour this November, with stops including New York City’s Mercury Lounge and DC9 in Washington, D.C.
After building serious buzz with singles like “Blame,” “Cherry Picker,” “I Know You Know,” and “Again”—which have collectively racked up more than 1.4 million streams—the sisters are ready for their next chapter.
Precious looks less like a debut and more like a declaration: Girl Tones are here, they’re loud, and they’re doing things their way.
