Godzilla is back, and this time the cities don’t stand a chance. Atari, Pipeworks and Toho International have officially launched Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, bringing the cult-favorite 2002 kaiju fighter back with a ground-up Unreal Engine 5 remake.

Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, the remaster puts players in control of legendary monsters, including the fan-favorite Showa-era Mechagodzilla. Expect massive monster battles, fully destructible cities, signature attacks and plenty of skyscrapers getting knocked into the next zip code.

The remake brings more than a fresh coat of paint. Players can look forward to 4K performance, online matchmaking and a streamlined point-based unlock and upgrade system. Tokyo and San Francisco return as battlegrounds, giving giant monsters plenty of room to turn civilization into rubble.

Originally developed by Pipeworks and published by Atari, Destroy All Monsters Melee earned a loyal following for its over-the-top monster combat and satisfying city destruction. This new edition aims to deliver the definitive version of that experience for longtime fans and a new generation of Godzilla enthusiasts.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is available now for $29.99 across digital platforms. Physical editions are also available through Atari’s website for PS5 ($29.99) and Nintendo Switch 2 ($39.99), with the Switch 2 edition featuring a full cartridge.
