The world of Tyria is getting a brand-new battlefield.
ArenaNet, NC, and bilibili have officially unveiled Mistbound, the first-ever digital collectible card game set in the beloved Guild Wars universe. Coming to both PC and mobile as a free-to-play title, Mistbound aims to blend the franchise’s rich MMO heritage with fast-paced strategic card combat.
What sets Mistbound apart is its focus on movement. Rather than static card battles, players deploy units and commanders onto a dynamic 5×3 tactical grid, then reposition them each turn to outmaneuver opponents. The result is a fresh take on the CCG formula, with mechanics like flanking, knockbacks, pulls, and battlefield control taking center stage.
Guild Wars fans can also expect plenty of familiar faces. Iconic characters return as commanders, each tied to the series’ signature profession system and bringing unique abilities and playstyles to the battlefield. ArenaNet says the goal is to capture the spirit of Guild Wars while introducing a new competitive experience for both longtime fans and newcomers.

According to the development team, Mistbound is designed to be easy to learn but difficult to master. Former Hearthstone pro and game designer Baek Hakjun, better known as “Kranich,” says players will gradually discover the satisfaction of reading and controlling the entire board as their skills improve.
The game will also lean heavily into Guild Wars’ audiovisual identity, featuring returning characters, franchise-inspired music, and voice performances designed to evoke nostalgia while creating a fresh strategic experience.
With ArenaNet’s legendary fantasy IP, NC’s development expertise, and bilibili’s massive gaming community helping shape feedback and future content, Mistbound could be one of the most intriguing card battlers on the horizon.
For Guild Wars fans eager for a new way to explore Tyria, the cards are finally on the table.
