Forget the football pitch. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and chart-topping rapper Aitch are taking their rivalry to the virtual battlefield in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.

Ahead of the game’s launch on Friday, October 23, the two Manchester icons traded stadium seats for gaming chairs in a showdown to determine who deserves the title of King of Manchester.

The matchup is part of Call of Duty’s Month of Grudge Matches, bringing rivalries from sports, music, and entertainment into the world of Modern Warfare 4. With Haaland representing Manchester City’s blue side and Aitch backing the red, there’s plenty of local bragging rights on the line.

The competition features three challenges designed to test more than just trigger fingers. First, the pair explore the Gunsmith and Firing Range to experiment with weapons and find their preferred setups. Next, they race through the Mobility Course, putting speed, control, and decision-making to the test.

Finally, it’s time for the main event: a best-of-five Gunfight showdown across multiple maps. With changing loadouts and tactics, both competitors must adapt quickly if they want to claim victory.

Football rivalry meets gaming competition, and only one can walk away as Manchester’s Modern Warfare 4 champion. Who will take the crown?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Campaign and DMZ Early Access are available now ahead of the full game’s launch on 23 October for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
