Georgia-born, Nashville-based sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, known for their multi-instrumental talents, are riding the high of their recent win as “Duo/Group of the Year” at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards. Fresh off that triumph, they’ve announced the release of their much-anticipated new album, Bloom, which is set to drop on Friday, January 24, 2025, via their own label, Tricki-Woo Records.

Bloom comes on the heels of their Grammy Award-winning album Blood Harmony, which was honored with “Best Contemporary Blues Album” earlier this year. The upcoming album is teased by the release of its first single, “If God Is A Woman,” available now. The song blends lush, bluesy soundscapes with thought-provoking lyrics, exploring contemporary themes through the lens of Mississippi hill country blues.

“Defying expectation requires great effort,” says Rebecca Lovell. “But the cathartic joy of deeper self-discovery is worth the struggle. ‘If God Is A Woman’ was written as a reminder to resist the typecasting of women. There are many shades of existence, and we had fun painting abstract with this sardonic blues.”

Larkin Poe’s victory at the Americana Honors & Awards, held earlier this week at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium, is just one highlight in what has been a banner year for the duo. Their Grammy win for Blood Harmony marked a major career milestone, and now Bloom sees the sisters diving even deeper into their musical journey. Produced and co-written by Megan, Rebecca, and Tyler Bryant, the album showcases Larkin Poe’s evolving sound, blending introspective storytelling with the duo’s signature blues and rock influences.

The Lovell sisters have long been praised for their authenticity and songcraft, and Bloom takes those qualities to new heights. Tracks like the reflective “Mockingbird” and the punk-infused anthem “Pearls” show their ability to confront both personal and societal issues while staying true to their roots in American music. Rebecca and Megan’s trademark poetic lyricism, skilled instrumentation, and soulful harmonies are on full display, cementing their place as modern torchbearers of American roots music.

Bloom is about finding oneself amidst the noise of the world,” Rebecca explains. “It’s about embracing the flaws and quirks that make us real.” Megan adds, “Pretty much all the songs on this album are about self-discovery, knowing who you are, and separating that truth from societal expectations.”

With Bloom, the Lovell sisters are inviting fans to join them on a journey of self-discovery and creative growth, promising a deeply resonant experience that’s both musically rich and emotionally honest.

In addition, Larkin Poe recently kicked off their new “American Girls with Larkin Poe” series on SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio (Channel 31), airing weekly with the best of roots rock ‘n’ roll, R&B, blues, and more, plus an exclusive Tom Petty cover in every episode.
