Geralt of Rivia isn’t done hunting monsters just yet.
CD PROJEKT RED has officially announced Songs of the Past, a brand-new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt arriving in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. More than a decade after the original game reshaped modern RPGs, players are once again heading back into the Continent — swords, scars, and all.
The expansion marks Geralt’s return in an entirely new adventure, giving longtime fans another reason to dust off their silver blades. CD PROJEKT RED is co-developing the project with Fool’s Theory, a studio packed with developers who previously worked on The Witcher 3, suggesting the team is aiming to capture the same magic that made the original unforgettable.
And that’s no small legacy to live up to. Since launching in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold more than 60 million copies and collected over 250 Game of the Year awards, cementing its place as one of gaming’s all-time greats.
Details on Songs of the Past are still under wraps for now, but CD PROJEKT RED says more information will arrive in late summer 2026. Until then, fans can only speculate about what kind of monsters, mysteries, and moral disasters Geralt is about to walk into next.
