Los Angeles-based trio Provoker release their third album, Mausoleum, out now via YEAR0001. The new project sharpens the band’s signature dark aesthetic, threading vivid, otherworldly visions through raw, deeply human experiences. With Mausoleum, Provoker has expanded their sonic scope — their most massive, immersive record to date.

The album ties together the cinematic worlds introduced in their recent singles: “Another Boy,” “Pantomime,” “Germaphobe,” and “Tears in the Club.” The latter two dropped last week with a striking double-feature video directed by Sean Stout. Now, the band adds another layer with the Muted Windows-directed visual for the album’s title track, “Mausoleum.”

Unlike the isolated process behind their earlier albums, Mausoleum stands out as Provoker’s most collaborative effort yet. Executive produced by Kenneth Blume (fka Kenny Beats), the record was born from studio sessions where members Christian Crow Petty, Jonathon Lopez, and Wil Palacios built ideas together — many sparked by Petty’s reflections on hauntings during a stint in an Echo Park attic. The album also boasts contributions from top-tier producers like Elliot Kozell (Yves Tumor, SZA), Simon Christensen (Gunna, Young Thug), Mikey Freedom Hart (Blood Orange, Lana Del Rey), and Zach Fogarty (Jean Dawson, Eyedress).

Here, Provoker’s shadowy persona grows sharper and more daring. Petty and Lopez’s songwriting turns inward, shifting from supernatural creatures and sci-fi to confront personal demons — the hauntings of self-worth, fractured relationships, and the quest for redemption. Their grotesque, vivid imagery remains, but the emotions hit closer to home.

Provoker will bring Mausoleum to life on stage as they head out on a 19-date North American headline tour starting after their performance at Cruel World Festival on May 17. Joining them on the road are RIP Swirl and faerybabyy.
