Sam Raimi’s cult horror gem Drag Me to Hell has finally been given the deluxe treatment it deserves with Scream Factory’s new 4K Ultra HD Steelbook release. This definitive edition offers both the unrated director’s cut and the theatrical PG-13 cut on 4K and Blu-ray, letting fans choose between Raimi’s full-throttle original vision or the slightly toned-down version that hit theaters.

The unrated cut ups the intensity with longer, bloodier sequences, including extended gore, nastier supernatural attacks, and a more explicit cat sacrifice scene. Meanwhile, the theatrical cut trims violence, swaps in alternate takes, and even alters blood effects to appeal to a wider audience. The result is two versions with distinct tones—one unapologetically Raimi, the other tailored for multiplex crowds.

Both cuts benefit from a gorgeous new 4K scan personally approved by Raimi, enhanced with Dolby Vision for vivid contrast and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 for immersive sound. The presentation ensures Raimi’s blend of horror and dark comedy looks and sounds sharper than ever.

But the Steelbook goes beyond the films themselves. It’s packed with extras, headlined by the nearly two-hour documentary Pardon My Curse: Making Drag Me to Hell. Fans will also find fresh interviews with stars Alison Lohman and Lorna Raver, a deep dive into Christopher Young’s score, archival chats with Raimi, production diaries, trailers, TV spots, and a gallery of 31 images.

For horror fans, this release is a treasure trove—whether you want to revisit Raimi’s chaotic nightmare in its purest form or see how the studio softened the edges, this set delivers the ultimate Drag Me to Hell experience.
