Start your engines: The Grand Tour is roaring back to Prime Video on September 4th, with a new trio ready to take on some seriously questionable cars — and even more questionable decisions.
The six-part series puts celebrated trainspotter and secret petrolhead Francis Bourgeois behind the wheel alongside Throttle House creators James Engelsman and Thomas Holland. Together, they’ll tackle some of the world’s wildest roads and ask the sort of motoring questions only The Grand Tour could make gloriously ridiculous.
Their adventures range from tearing across the Angolan desert in track cars and diving into Malaysia’s vibrant car culture to heading for California to put cutting-edge performance cars through their paces.
And judging by their comments, things get chaotic quickly.
Bourgeois recalls sharing a tent with Engelsman and Holland while Angolan jackals lurked outside — and dealing with what he diplomatically describes as “sulphuric farts.” Engelsman promises desert crossings, fighter pilots and an ill-advised confrontation with an entire nation’s legal system. Holland, meanwhile, admits the trio were left to fend for themselves in “very, VERY questionable cars.”
In other words: classic Grand Tour territory.
With three fresh faces, spectacular locations and plenty of questionable decision-making, the new series looks set to give The Grand Tour a fresh jolt of petrol-fuelled chaos.
