Apple TV is bringing a little heart, humor and family chaos to the screen with Lenni, a new comedy-drama starring Academy Award nominee Toni Collette (Hereditary, Wayward).

Collette stars as Lenni, a divorced mother of two and child welfare social worker who spends her days helping other families navigate difficult situations. Unfortunately, keeping her own family together is a considerably messier job.

Following a family tragedy, Lenni finds herself trying to protect the people she loves from life’s unpredictable twists and turns. The series blends dark comedy, emotional storytelling and a mystery that explores what family really means — including what happens when it falls apart.

Based on the hit Norwegian series Pernille, created by Henriette Steenstrup, Lenni is directed by BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Dearbhla Walsh (Bad Sisters, Margo’s Got Money Troubles). Sarah Scheller (The Letdown, Strife) handles the adaptation.

The impressive supporting cast includes Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones), Dan Wyllie (Love My Way), Josh McKenzie (La Brea), Celeste Barber (The Letdown), Genevieve Hegney (Colin From Accounts), Arka Das and Wayne Blair.

Production is currently underway in Sydney, Australia, with support from the New South Wales government through Screen NSW.

With Collette leading the way, Lenni looks poised to deliver an entertaining mix of family dysfunction, sharp humor and genuine emotional moments. Sometimes the people who spend their days fixing everyone else’s problems have the biggest mess waiting for them at home.
