Sleaford Mods have just dropped two previously unreleased tracks, “Git Some Balls” and “Air Con” (a reworked version of “Air Conditioning”), in anticipation of the 10th anniversary edition of their influential and acclaimed album, Divide and Exit, coming out on July 26th.

“Git Some Balls” was created during the Divide and Exit sessions by Andrew Fearn and Jason Williamson but is only now being released on streaming platforms. It will also be available on a special flexi-disc included with limited edition copies of the reissue.

“‘Git Some Balls’ was one of those tracks we initially set aside because it didn’t quite fit,” Williamson explains. “But listening to it now, it sounds fantastic. It’s funny how the tracks we discarded sometimes turn out to be just as good as the ones that made it onto the album. It really reflects our creative process and mindset back then.”

Originally released in May 2014, Fearn and Williamson’s second official album (or sixth, if you count their early CD-R releases) perfectly captured the societal malaise of the time, as British politics felt increasingly corrupt and self-serving. The album’s combination of potent lyrics and minimalist electronics provided a fresh, powerful voice expressing much-needed rage, anger, hurt, and hope.
