Apple TV+ celebrated the world premiere of Mr. Scorsese—a five-part documentary event from director Rebecca Miller—at the New York Film Festival’s prestigious Spotlight Section. The evening honored legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese with an emotional, star-studded tribute to his life and work.
Attending the premiere were Scorsese’s longtime friends and collaborators including Robert De Niro, Daniel Day-Lewis, Josh Safdie, Jay Cocks, Nick Pileggi, Irwin Winkler, Mark Harris, Ellen Lewis, and members of the Scorsese and Day-Lewis families. Hundreds of film enthusiasts filled the theater for the full screening of all five episodes, which earned a standing ovation from the audience.

Introduced by Miller and executive producers Damon Cardasis and Cindy Tolan, the director shared heartfelt thanks to the New York Film Festival and to Scorsese himself: “Thank you, Marty, for your honesty and trust… It was one of the great privileges of my life.”
Mr. Scorsese offers an unprecedented look at the filmmaker’s creative journey—from his NYU student films to his most recent work—through candid conversations and never-before-seen archival material. The series features appearances from Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis, Thelma Schoonmaker, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, and many more.
The five-part documentary premieres globally on October 17, exclusively on Apple TV+.
