Escape was the injury. Relapse was triage. Now... it’s time for the surgery.

At IGN Fan Fest October, The Outlast Trials unveiled its most disturbing experiment yet: Invasion Mode, a new PvP experience arriving October 21, just in time for Halloween. The grotesque new trailer showcased players turning on one another in a deadly game of trust and treachery—where every ally could be an enemy in disguise.

Dubbed the Invasion Experimental Therapy, this Season 4 centerpiece allows players to invade the Trials of others as masked Imposters. Armed with knives, hidden cameras, and disguises crafted from human flesh, Imposters will stalk, deceive, and slaughter unsuspecting Reagents—all under the watchful eye of the ever-“benevolent” Father Easterman.

Accessed through the Sleep Room Terminals, the mode mixes co-op survival with savage PvP combat, as players must outthink and outstab their peers in claustrophobic arenas. Those not invading can act as surveillance operatives, guiding teammates to their next victim.

Key Features:

  • Become the Hunter: Strike from the shadows with stealth kills.
  • Surveil the Trials: Use cameras to plan attacks.
  • Don a Deadly Disguise: Blend in before the perfect betrayal.
  • Stab Them in the Back: One slip means death.

In The Outlast Trials, harm and healing are one and the same.
