Microsoft has kicked off 2026 with its first Xbox Game Pass announcement, revealing the January “Wave 1” lineup—and it’s a strong start. Headlining the month are two major additions: Star Wars Outlaws and Resident Evil Village, both arriving later in January and setting the tone for what Game Pass subscribers can expect this year.

Star Wars Outlaws lands on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on January 13. Billed as the first open-world Star Wars game, it’s set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, making it one of the most significant blockbuster additions to the service in recent memory.

Following close behind, Resident Evil Village joins Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass on January 20. Capcom’s acclaimed survival horror entry brings tense atmosphere, memorable villains, and polished gameplay to subscribers just days after Outlaws.

Beyond the headliners, January is packed with variety. January 6 saw the surprise arrival of twin-stick shooter Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition. The Wave 1 schedule also includes AtomfallLost in Random: The Eternal DieRematchWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition, the 2D remaster of the original Final FantasyMy Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery, and MIO: Memories in Orbit.

As new games arrive, others depart. On January 15, titles such as Neon WhiteRoad 96, and The Ascent will leave the service.

With Wave 1 now revealed, Microsoft has already hinted that more additions and departures are on the way later this month.
