Apple TV+ has unveiled the first teaser for “Cape Fear,” a highly anticipated psychological horror thriller limited series set to premiere globally on Friday, June 5, 2026. The project boasts an impressive lineup, starring Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, and Patrick Wilson, with Nick Antosca serving as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. Legendary filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg also executive produce, bringing significant cinematic pedigree to the series.
Inspired by the 1991 remake, the story follows married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden as their lives unravel when Max Cady, a convicted killer they helped imprison, is released and seeks revenge. The premise promises tension, dread, and morally complex drama.
The ten-episode series will debut with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through July 31. Produced by UCP and Amblin Television, the show draws from both the novel “The Executioners” and earlier film adaptations. Director Morten Tyldum helms the pilot, setting the tone for what could become one of the summer’s most talked-about thrillers, blending prestige storytelling with chilling suspense and powerhouse performances throughout its run. Early teaser footage hints at a slow-burning psychological descent, emphasizing atmosphere over jump scares while spotlighting the cast’s intense performances. If successful, the series may redefine modern television horror for streaming audiences everywhere this year and beyond expectations entirely worldwide.
