NYC brothers Dylan and Noah Chenfeld—aka Rebounder—are back with “Downtown People,” a bright, sun-soaked new single that previews their long-awaited debut album of the same name, out November 6th, 2026 via Nettwerk.
Directed by Grant Jorissen, the track arrives with a new video and offers a colorful snapshot of life in the city: romantic, chaotic, restless, and increasingly impossible to navigate.
“Uptown People wanna be downtown people. Downtown people wanna be downtown people. And I would like for it to be easier to sit at restaurants. It’s a mess, nobody is happy,” Dylan says of the song.
Written, recorded, and produced by the brothers in their Greenpoint studio, Downtown People (pre-order) draws from the vast history of NYC music alongside influences like Sky Ferreira, Lykke Li, Dire Straits, Don DeLillo, and Bret Easton Ellis. Across 14 tracks, Rebounder turns breakups, new flings, unanswered texts, and humid NYC summers into crisp, technicolor indie rock.
The Chenfelds first made waves with their Subway Songs and Summer Songs EPs, later opening for Phoenix, MUNA, Cults, and The Neighbourhood. Their debut arrives as a long-awaited introduction to a band that has spent years soaking up the city around them.
Rebounder will celebrate the album’s release with a hometown show at Nightclub 101 in New York on November 6th.
“If all goes well I promise we’ll make many more,” Dylan says of what comes next. “If it doesn’t, I promise we won’t.”
