The journey back into the darkness is getting closer. METRO 2039 pre-orders are officially open, with three editions to choose from, a new pre-order bonus, and a Story Expansion DLC confirmed for release after launch.
Developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, METRO 2039 is scheduled to launch on February 4, 2027, with some territories receiving the game on February 5.
Get a Head Start in the Metro
Pre-order any edition and you’ll receive the METRO 2039 Specialist Pack, featuring three blueprints that unlock specialized backpack upgrades. Choose from equipment crafting, extra gas mask supplies for hazardous environments, or access to rarer ammunition. Just remember: you can equip only one upgrade at a time.
Three Editions, One Dark Journey
Here’s what players can expect from each edition:
- Standard Edition: The full game, available digitally and physically.
- Deluxe Edition: The full game, Story Expansion DLC, digital art book, and official soundtrack. Physical buyers also get an exclusive SteelBook, hardback art book, and special packaging.
- Collector’s Edition: Everything included in the physical Deluxe Edition, plus a wearable replica of the Stranger’s battle-scarred Spartan helmet.
The Collector’s Edition is the standout for longtime fans, bringing a piece of Metro’s gritty post-apocalyptic world straight to their shelves.
The Story Doesn’t End at Launch
The confirmed Story Expansion DLC gives players another reason to keep an eye on METRO 2039. Details remain under wraps, but the additional story content will arrive after launch.
