GoPro is giving creators a new way to bring cinematic style to their footage. The company has launched a pair of close-up filter options from PolarPro, designed to add background blur, subject separation, and a more professional look to its MISSION 1 and MISSION 1 PRO cameras.
Available now at GoPro.com, the new filters use optical-grade, multi-coated glass to preserve image sharpness and color accuracy while creating a shallower depth of field. They slide over the camera lens or an ND filter, with a fixed focus design that requires no adjustments.
Two options are available: the standalone +0.5 Close-Up Filter for $49.99 and the Close-Up Filter Set for $99.99, which includes +0.5, +1, and +2 diopters. The different strengths offer flexibility, from subtle background softness for travel videos and vlogs to tighter, more dramatic close-ups for detailed shots.
The filters are compatible with the MISSION 1, MISSION 1 PRO, and select PRO editions, including the Grip, Creator, and Ultimate Creator editions. The three-filter set also includes a travel case for storing unused filters.
GoPro says its MISSION 1 Series has earned 14 industry awards from 12 publications since launching earlier this year. These new accessories add another creative option for filmmakers and everyday content creators looking to get more cinematic results straight out of the camera.
