A star-studded post-apocalyptic thriller lands on digital October 27, followed by 4K Ultra HD and DVD on December 1.

What happens when the world falls apart, but hope refuses to die? That’s the gripping question at the heart of The Dog Stars, Ridley Scott’s riveting adaptation of Peter Heller’s acclaimed bestseller — and it’s heading to home entertainment this fall.

Starring Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin, alongside Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Allison Janney and Benedict Wong, the film drops on premium digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home, on October 27. Prefer your post-apocalyptic adventures in stunning physical-media glory? The film arrives on 4K Ultra HD and DVD on December 1.

Set in a brutal world where survival is instinct but humanity is a choice, the story follows Hig (Elordi), a young pilot living in isolation with military survivalist Bangley (Brolin). Their carefully maintained existence takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious radio transmission sparks Hig’s search for something the devastated world seems to have lost: human connection.

Expect breathtaking cinematography, an immersive score and a journey that’s about much more than staying alive. As Polygon’s Jake Kleinman puts it, the film is “a post-apocalyptic odyssey like no other.”

The home release also brings viewers closer to the action with behind-the-scenes bonus content and seven deleted scenes, including “Jasper’s Funeral,” “Hig Mourns” and “A Conversation With Pops.” The 4K Ultra HD edition adds high dynamic range (HDR), an expanded color spectrum and immersive audio for a cinematic experience at home.

Mark your calendar: The Dog Stars arrives on digital October 27 and on 4K Ultra HD and DVD December 1.
