Moby has announced his 23rd studio album, Future Quiet, due for release on February 20th, 2026 via BMG, and has shared its lead track: a new orchestral version of “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die,” featuring Jacob Lusk of acclaimed soul outfit Gabriels.
Future Quiet marks a contemplative new chapter for one of electronic music’s most influential figures. Spanning eleven tracks, the album blends modern piano minimalism, immersive ambient textures and select vocal collaborations, reflecting on the friction between today’s hyper-connected world and the human need for stillness. As Moby explains, the record is intended as “a refuge” from the noise of modern life, both for the listener and for himself as a creator.
The album opens with the reimagined “When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die,” first released in 1995 on Everything Is Wrong. The song has recently reached a massive new audience thanks to its powerful use in seasons one and four of Netflix’s Stranger Things, becoming Moby’s most streamed track. Jacob Lusk’s contribution brings new emotional depth, with Moby calling his performance “transcendent.”
With over three decades of innovation behind him, Future Quiet reinforces Moby’s enduring relevance as an artist who continues to evolve, seeking calm, meaning and beauty amid the chaos.
