Landon Barker is making his return to music with an intimate new performance for Vevo Studios. The singer and songwriter has released a live studio version of “If I Ever Talk To God,” now available through Vevo’s Live from Vevo Studios series via Big Loud Rock.
The track recently received a little extra attention after being featured in the October 29 episode of The Kardashians, introducing the emotional song to an even wider audience.
The new performance keeps things personal. Bathed in warm, pulsing yellow lighting, Barker takes the stage with his band, guitar in hand, delivering a heartfelt performance centered on the song’s themes of lost love and reflection. Dressed in black with a green striped tie, he lets the music do the talking, giving the track an intimate, stripped-back feel.
For Barker, the release marks an important step forward after time away from music. Speaking with Variety, he explained that the past couple of years brought significant personal and creative changes.
“This song feels like the right way to come back,” Barker said.
Vevo’s Live from Vevo Studios series gives artists an opportunity to showcase their music through custom lighting, professional production and performances that highlight their individual style. For Barker, it’s a fitting introduction to his next musical chapter.
