Netflix’s upcoming Japanese drama Sins of Kujo arrives April 2, bringing a tense live-action take on Shohei Manabe’s manga Kujo no Taizai. The newly released main trailer sets the tone for a morally complex story where the law is less about justice and more about survival.

At the center is Taiza Kujo, played by Yuya Yagira, a lawyer who openly admits he is “a good lawyer, but a bad person.” Kujo defends clients at any cost, using legal loopholes to reduce sentences, even if it means protecting the guilty. His philosophy puts him at odds with Shinji Karasuma, an idealistic young attorney portrayed by Hokuto Matsumura, and Hitomi Yakushimae, a compassionate social worker played by Elaiza Ikeda.

Kujo’s world is crowded with dangerous figures, including Kengo Mibu, an underworld-connected fixer, and Kiyoshi Kyogoku, a yakuza leader seeking to exploit him. Meanwhile, Detective Arashiyama watches closely, determined to bring down anyone operating in the shadows.

The trailer closes with a striking image of Kujo blindfolded like Lady Justice, raising questions about whether he represents fairness or willful ignorance. Praised by Manabe himself, the series promises gripping performances and intense character clashes. Sins of Kujo streams globally on Netflix starting April 2. Fans of legal thrillers and character-driven dramas will likely find themselves hooked from the very first episode.
